I read the new Workhorse chassis manual that was made available (thanks!) but I still can't find what needs to be checked periodically as far as the Auto Park brake system on my W24 goes. I know it includes the fluid level and the operation of it...but it also says to check the "adjustments". What, if any adjustments are there? And do I need to take it to a Workhorse center to get it checked or can I do this myself? I have never had mine checked and with 28k miles I wonder if I'm living on the edge here. I have read a post or two about "lock-ups" but it may have been the earlier J71 or other system? Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The J72 has been a reliable brake and is not typically known for the periodic failures that the J71 presents its owners.

I would take my rig to a service center to have the AAPB checked if it needs any type of adjustment. As far as I know there are no user maintained items on the J72 aside from the fluid check.

Thanks DriVer. I understand there are springs that clamp the brake when pressure drops so maybe there's some adjustablity there...probably one of those things better left alone, huh? Working great so far...

There is a cable adjustment. A cable connects the Autopark hydraulic cylinder to the brake mechanism. My cable "stretched" a bit causing an Autopark alarm. I used the adjustment (located underneath the motorhome) to "tighten" the cable, and now no alarm.

That's it in a nutshell.

Contact, "OldUsedBear" oldusedbear@oemys-performance.com , he will load you up with Autopark info. (primarily J71)

Thanks Art D. I'm taking mine in for the Allison synthetic trans "changeover" in a couple weeks. I asked the Allison service person if they would be able to check whatever needed to be checked on the Auto Park brake (since it is on the rear of their transmission unit). They thought they could but I'll contact your guy first to be certain they check/make the correct adjustment(s).
