In the past if my Jacks lite on the dash came on with the buzzer while I was moving I just turned on the master switch and pressed store and that took care of the problem. Now I can,t get the switch and buzzer to stop. The jacks appear to be all the way up. I,m thinking a loose spring? I can,t even isolate which one though. Any suggestions? Thanks- John

cookie monster - I have HWH jacks and there is a microswitch at the top of each jack that controls the light and buzzer. It may be out of adjustment. You might have a jack that is not all the way up so it does not activate the microswitch. You may have to crawl under there to check them, hard to see unless you are very close. You might try spraying the jack shafts with silicon spray and wiping them off to clean them. Then cycle your jack a couple of times and the problem may cure itself.

I had to replace one on my coach... But, I think its a magnetic switch and not a micro switch.
They can be a real PAIN to replace. There is not a lot of room to get a wrench or socket to R&R the switch.
Before you call HWH check to see what color the wires are - black or gray as the connectors are different. I said black and found out they were gray, Newmar had spray them with black undercoat.

Spray the leg w/ silicone and you should be good to go.
If your situation is similar to mine you'll be able to break a slight ring of - for a lack of a better word - crud - and the switch should then be able to close. Give it a shot!

The next best thing is to pull the fuse that controls the buzzer. Mine was under the dash on the driver's side; a pair of wires hanging down with a fuse holder at the end.

I have 'power gear ' jacks. If my oil reservoir is exactly full on a hot day ,it will be low enough for it to think the jacks must be down and activate the buzzer, when it's cold out. (just expansion and contraction) The simple fix for me was to overfill it by about an inch in the reservoir. As long as it does'nt overflo, theres no harm. I might have to check it when it gets hot again.

Max: Are you saying the "jack down" buzzer is activated by the fluid level in the reservoir??

Yes, on "Power Gear" jacks. If the fluid is low in the reservoir, it thinks the oil must be in the jacks and if so, they have to be down. There is a float switch in the reservoir but I could'nt figure out how to or if it's adjustable.

MAX: thanks. I did not know that, I have HWH- not PowerGear. I'm guessing your float switch won't know the difference between a leak and a jack down, so you'd get a low level alarm from either condition. At least you developed a "fix"

Cookiemonster,
I have 2004 chassis with HWH jacks, and the switch referred to on top of jacks is a pressure operated switch. Easy to check switch with a jumper wire, as each switch has a pigtail that unplugs on mine.If you do not find problem, either call HWH. or go to their website at HWH.com, they are real helpful and friendly folks to deal with.

In talking to the HWH tech rep he thinks that because the red jack lites go out as the jack retracts and they do not come on when the buzzer goes off the problem may not be the jack or swtitch but a wiring problem between the control unit and panel and buzzer such as a intermittent open. Im a telephone co. retiree and chased intermittent electrical faults for a living and know sometimes they are difficult at best to correct. Not sure how much time I want to invest before i get this in the shop.- John

I crawled under the dash and found in wiggling the wires from the lite to the buzzer that I could activate them. It turned out the buzzer had come loose from its bracket and the metal connectors were grounding on the firewall or bracket and setting off the alarm. Good tip from the HWH tech or I would have been messing around with springs and switches to no end. Thanks everyone- John
