The first shock absorber offering superior road-holding without compromising comfort.
KONI introduces FSD, the first no-compromise shock absorber in the world. A revolutionary new technique which combines the benefits of firm and comfortable suspension in a single perfect shock absorber. Firm for sporty driving on even road surfaces. Comfortable for a smooth ride on uneven road surfaces.
Realizing the seemingly impossible!
Two characteristics that seemed diametrically- opposed, proved to be a source of inspiration for specialists from KONI. Following lengthy development and testing, the ultimate solution was reached: KONI FSD - Frequency Selective Damping.
A revolutionary new technique whereby the benefits of both types of ride characteristics are combined in one perfect shock absorber. Banishing the disadvantages of the past. FSD shock absorbers; a smart suspension system adjusting automatically to road conditions as well as driving style. And all of this in a fraction of a second. FSD guarantees greater stability, greater control and thus greater driving pleasure. To learn more about how FSD works, click here.
KONI reconfirms with the FSD innovation a leading position as innovative supplier of high-quality shock absorber products.
Advantages of FSD
› Ends the compromise between comfort and handling
› Can be integrated in conventional damper layouts
› No need for sensors, cables, or other electronic devices
› Creates an additional variable in fine-tuning the car’s behaviour
› Quick and easy to develop for existing suspensions
› Damper cost efficient
Please call our sponsors, Brazels RV Performance Center or Redlands Truck & RV Performance Center for a price quote both are authorized Koni distributors.

What Driver said, I replaced my shocks last year with Koni's from Brazels and it was like driving a new coach. No Bull.
Call Jon he'll hook you right up.

Everyone should be advised that right now there is a shortage (backorder) on Koni shock right now, specifically the 8805-1001 front workhorse shocks. They are not due in until the middle of April so make sure wherever you decide to order from that they do have that shocks in stock.

That is the technology that allows these shock absorbers to adjust automatically to different road & handling conditions. The only shock on the market that does this.

I think the Road King shocks also have some sort of damping controll??

Mike,
For the extra $200+ per shock over the Koni FSD, I highly doubt Road Kings's have anymore technology built into the damping. Plus, they are still a GAS charged shock...just like the Bilstein...

I replaced my original Monroes with Konis last Oct. They have a harsher ride than the Monroes, but they don't allow the big downward excursion the Monroes did in certain conditions and do control the roll and sway better.
The coaches I have ridden in that have Bilsteins also have a harsher ride than the Monroes.

The results for a 32,000 GVWR Freightliner chassis with air bags, may not be applicable to my 22,000 GVWR spring loaded Workhorse.
At least I hope not since I just picked up a set of Koni's.

well here's my 2 cents, i know this is not an apples to apples comp. but my 01 discovery had bilseins on it, it rode terrible. we liked it so much we kept it till the 02's came out and traded it for our current 02 beaver. it came with monroes, it rode and handled better than the discovery. but when we put the koni fsd's on last year it turned it into a great riding mh. thats a joy to ride in and drive. dollar wise i'm not sorry i spent the$$ now the road kings i probably would never go there! i don't agree with mh magazine. my opinion jim

I have bliston's on my front and they seem fine to me. I think for right now I will agree with mh mag and keep my blistens and 600.00 or so dollors. If the konis are that good why dont the chassis mfg put them on to begin with? Just my two cents worth. Btw just got my mh mag and will read the review.

A big factor as to why they are not factory equipment is because of the cost. Just like sway bars, trac bars, etc. the chassis manufacturer is not going to provide these because of their added cost.
If you are happy with your Bilstein's then that's awesome!

Hell - the manufacturer doesn't even put on "good" brakes. Why should you expect "good" suspension parts. I sometimes think we are lucky these units can even drive off of the dealer's lots into freeway and rush hour traffic.
