Leaf spring lubrication

I do my own chassis lubrication. The owner manual identifying the grease points indicates a need to lubricate the rear leaf spring pad.
There is an asterick stating something to the effect that it is not necessary on all models. Does anyone know how to identify those springs needing grease and how do you apply the grease.

Jolin, I don't know what you are driving as you did not put that down nor do you have a signature line that says what you have. But - in my case there are no lubricated parts in the spring pack. The teflon between the two-leaf parabolic spring does not need grease of any type. Just inspection and replacement if necessary. The schackles have rubber inserts and also require no lubrication.
