Just got back from a trip yesterday and once in town we smelled a slight burning smell. It only lasted for a few minutes but now I have very limited power (at idle the engine will only rev up to 3000 RPM). I have a scan guage II but no codes. Replaced the Plugs and wires, cleaned the MAF sensor and disconnected the ECM to clear. My W22 only has 17500 miles...can this be the fuel filter or catylitic converter? Any help will be great?

cannon man has it right, the 8.1 has a rev limiter and won't rev past 2500-3000 RPM in neutral.

Thank you gentlemen...the problem was the Plugs and/or wires. I confused the Rev limiter as part of the problem once the plugs and wires were changed out! All is working well now...case closed!

Not quite GT Project, If you had plug wire problems then you will most likely continue to have plug wire problems until you get better air flow to that area. I was plagued with bad plug wires until I had the “Vent Kit” installed. Then it was, Case Closed.

--> Exactly!
However some applications can't even be helped even with a 1 HP leaf blower but those are few and far between. 2005 Safari Trek "Challenging!" to say the least. Got as far as a actively powered marine bilge blower however the results of that effort were inconclusive since the owner bought an RDP shortly after the mod.

Not my fault honest! Blame RVIA and RVDA.

How could we best distinguish "DP" from Diesel puller or pusher?

DF or DR just doesn't get the job done ....

FRED is likely copyrighted and FED is the only alternative. That said RED is also trademarked so we can't use that. In the interim, we'll have to go with rear diesel and yes it does push as opposed to pulling but the acronym would be the same for both cases.

Good head scratcher this morning.

Aw Ha…I see. I guess DP could be a Diesel Pusher or Diesel Puller. I was thinking the only Diesel Puller was the FRED but I guess Workhorse is doing that now too.

Hey Gregory.......I see yours is a 2003 model year. Make sure you have the brake bell crank well lubed and it should have a grease fitting added to the shaft. The early models didn't and I added a zerk fitting to my 2004......not a difficult thing to do yourself.

Yes, I thank you for your service to this country too.

Good luck,
Bill
