Sitting at Paradise Park in Old Orchard Beach Maine. My rear view mirrors have loosened up and are bouncing when I drive. I can't for the life of me figure out how to tighten them. They are coming loose from the chassis. Any advice? Click image for larger version

Can you access the 4 bolts that fasten the bracket to the RV body? Open the door under the windshield and reach into each corner to see if you can feel the bolts. If you know who made the mirrors, you could look on their website and see if it shows how they're put together.

There's a plywood block on the inside. Looks like its screwed into from the outside, but there's plastic covering the outside.

On mine I open the generator compartment door and the bolts holding the mirrors to the coach are located in the upper right and left corners as pictured here.

It was covered a few years back on this site.
Just did mine last week, mine had wood screws not bolts.
The arm should come off by a bolt under a cover under the arm.
With the arm and mirror removed the shroud will come off exposing the screws.
I could not get mine apart.
Another member suggested drilling 4 holes in the cover to access the screw heads and cover the holes with plastic plugs.
Either replace the screws with bolts or just snug the screws up.

Well, I was able to remove the mirrors and tighten the base screws. Some advice for anyone doing this:
1) Have a second person ready to hold the mirrors when they come off. They are heavy.

2) Use some Kroil or other penetrating lubricant before trying to remove them. That cheap aluminum oxidizes and it's very hard to knock them loose.
