Low Fuel warning came on with full tank

While driving my 2003 Pace Arrow I heard a beeping and was shocked to see a low fuel message come on. I had a full tank yet the fuel gauge dropped to empty.

This only happened for a few seconds, and then the gauge went back to full and the warning went off.

As I can not likely repeat this occurence at my repair shop, does any one know the cause and cure for this problem?

Thanks,

Typical Actia error and reset.

As oemtech said that's common for the Actia IPs. It has happened to mine three or four times in nine years.
Several years ago a Workhorse rep at the Winnebago Grand National rally told me there is a fix that requires re-flashing the IP firmware. She offered to do it at the rally (for free) but we couldn't set a time that fit both our schedules.

At that time some WH shops could do the re-flash but since it isn't a sign of that something is failing and it doesn't happen often I haven't bothered to have it done.

I'd agree with the Actia Gauge being the problem.

All my gauges go to zero and the alarm goes off and then clears itself. I just ignore it now.

The gauge driven by a miniature stepping motor actually go to zero. It is a self reset routine that initializes all gauges. Nothing to worry about.

Fuel guage

Thanks to all that replied. Now I can feel confident to take my next trip without fear of engine shutdown.

I had my Actia rebuilt, which included replacement of all the stepper motors.

So once I thought the same thing, it was the sun shining in on the gauge cluster making the low fuel indicator appearing that it was illuminated.

Maybe the same thing ?

Good to hear it's "normal"

I'm glad to hear this happens to others. I been trying to figure this out for years. I though it might be a ground problem. My DW though we lost all our gas.

Has happened to me several times over the 2+ years of full timing - as said earlier, welcome to the Actia Club - although, first time it scared the SH__ out of me - don't need that level of surprise anymore while driving the coach -
