Workhorse recommends re-torquing the rear spring shackle U bolts on the W and P chassis at the first 500 miles and then every 10,000 miles.

Today I was in for Pennsylvania's annual vehicle inspection. Had the oil, filter and a good lube done. I also had the U bolts torqued on my W24 chassis. They were OK but if loose all kinds of problems could develope.

Quoting the Workhorse Gas RV Chassis Manual.....

"The U-bolts attaching the rear axle to the leaf springs should be checked and retightened to the specific torque after the first 500 miles of operation. Recheck the U-bolt torque each 10,000 miles thereafter."

The torque specifications for the W series is 140 lb ft. For the P series chassis with the JB8 brake system it is 152 lb ft and for the P series chassis with the JF9 brakes system it is 193 lb ft.

Gee!! if the RV has 2600 miles on it from delivery, do you think the Dealer checked the torque?
Does the delivering driver stop along the way and do it at 500 miles? I doubt itwas ever checked. Need to add it to the list.
I Apreciate the info.
