I had strange noise come from my coach last week. I drove app. 45 miles towing my jeep, outside temp in the sixties. When I got home there was metallic sound coming from inside the driver side muffler while idling, it sounded like something was loose inside the muffler and was flying around inside hitting the sides of the muffler. It did it once again on re-start a couple of hours later, and now has gone away.

Its currently in the shop, but since it is not doing this anymore, I am not sure they will investigate.

Any ideas/experience with this?

Thanks.

I had my driver side muffler replaced because of the same thing. I first heard a strange noise while idling. After it cooled, I slipped under and thumped on both mufflers. Passenger side produced a thud. Driver side sounded like a maraca.
