Mobil-1 Oil Filter

Currently running the NAPA Gold 1060 one quart filter. I can get a deal on Mobil-1 with the Mobil-1 filter. I know from prior experience that this filter is more restrictive due to its finer filtering capability than the NAPA. I read in another thread that some filters on the 8.1 have caused issues, the Fram was specifically mentioned.

Is anyone running the Mobil-1 oil filter and have you had any oil pressure issues?

That's what I am looking at, but the larger rebate requires the purchase of a Mobil-1 filter. I also have an Autozone discount for five quarts and a filter for $30 am am allowed to buy three.

I have used mobile 1 oil and filters in all things gas for many years. Motorhome, jeep, old truck, and wife's car. Never a problem.

25 years ago I put an aftermarket oil filter on a Toyota Corolla. It blew the seam out when I started it. I think it was a Fram but don't know for sure.

Went back to the auto store and they replaced it. The next one made it 1/2 way around the block and it blew out too.

Went to Toyota and bought a filter. It worked fine.

I now have a policy of going to the dealer and buying my oil filters. I do all my own oil changes...I don't trust anybody.

For my 8.1 I use the PF454 and after 80,000 miles I've had no oil related problems.

The 1060 NAPA Gold filter sells for around $6.25. The NAPA synthetic 5W-30 oil (stock # 75-520) sells for 4.25 per quart.
Total for 5 qt. oil and the filter $27.75
The NAPA oil is actually Valvoline oil in a NAPA package.

Thanks for all the responses. Current Autozone deal is five quarts and Mobil-1 filter for $29.99 so I will go with the Mobil-1 filter. If I get 15 quarts total with this deal, I can get two changes and a quart of spare oil out of the deal. Likely need to carry more than one spare quart though.

Fram is no longer owned by Honeywell. It was absorbed by the New Zealand company that bought out Champion Labs. The company went bankrup, Champ Labs and Fram were split into separate companies. But, the bottom line is Fram filters are being made by Champ Labs and IIRC 1 or 2 Fram facilities. So, Fram of today is not Fram of yesterday.

Not knowing the oil change history on my recently acquired 2015 Winnebago Vista 30T, I just had the oil changed with Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 filter to establish a base line for service. When I purchased her, there were 13,500 miles on the odometer.
