I just got off the phone with Chris the tech in Oregon and he informed me that Monaco is no longer producing the Vacationer or the LaPalma, or any gas class A. They are making only the higher end coaches starting with the Neptune DP. They are still making some class C gassers but that is it. They have had to drop certain coach lines since consolidating operations in Oregon. Too bad.

Just like houses, there are lots of expensive ones that are selling pretty well. Class A motorhomes seem to be following that lead. There are enough people out there that will buy the high line coaches and it would seem that's enough to keep these coach builders in business.

I am also very glad I purchased the HR UFO. I just completed a 4500 mile trip to California and back to Houston and have to say, this coach has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is fun to drive and mileage is as expected for a coach of this size and weight.
Will be glad once the FCA issue is behind me whatever the outcome.
Regards

I wonder if this will effect future Holiday Rambler Class A gas units?

Yes it will, no more Admirals or Vacationer DPs. Neptunes and up only.

Thanks, Derrick! If this all proves out to be true, we can certainly say "you read it on iRV2.com FIRST. It has not been publicized on RV BUsiness yet, and the various Monaco websites still show the products. I've added a shortcut to post this in the Monaco Forum here on iRV2.com.
I had not heard this sad news, and wonder if the decision also applies to the various Safari models. ED

That could be good. If they quit making the more affordable (ie cheaper) Mh's, maybe ours will hold their value a little better.
You hear about foreclosure being way up, in this economy on houses, but has any one heard if very many MH are getting repossessed? I would think the boats, other toys and MH's would go before the stick house.

I think you are right. Stick houses are harder to move south of the border! Ed

True, but, now that the banks are getting tighter, the car and truck mfgrs are offering 0% financing. Some motorcycle/ ATV mfgrs are offering 3.9%
I wonder if Winnebago or Fleetwood will offer 0% for 15 years so someone can afford to buy them.
But my point was , they say the housing market is in the dumps because banks were lending money to people who could'nt pay it back, and now they are going into foreclosure.
Buying MH's and other RVs has been too easy too , and I was wondering if many are getting repossesd. The major news does'nt talk much about , or feel sorry for RV , yaught or airplane owners so we don't hear much about that. But you'd think some people may be having a hard time paying for stuff they bought in the good ole days.

I just bought a 2005 Safari Cheetah 38 PDQ that was repossesed. It was fully loaded with most options and had 6K original miles (3500 were original delivery miles to LazyDays in Florida). The stove, refer and shower had never been used.
I got it on an e-bay auction for $88K. The guy I bought it from buys at bank auctions. He said that they are not currently selling all that are available at the auctions and only a few that are low miles or sought after units are selling at the auctions.
He said they are repossesing more than can be sold and dealers have stopped buying at the auctions. The units are backing up in lots!
