Dale or Steve,
My main complaint is that I have to drive 20 mph in the Colorado mountains and feel that I may actually have to stop at times. I've been reading about Ultrapower for sometime now and really want to know just one thing. Will I be able to notice a change in the power of the MH with your product? Will it be obvious to me? I really don't care about increasing my mpg as an increase of 1-3 mpg really isn't all that meaningful to me. I would just like to clib some of those "hills" in 5th gear for a change. I tow a Saturn Vue.

Now that said, UP will allow you to climb most grades in 3rd with authority if fact it's my experience that the motorhome will actually accelerate up most grades. I also tow a Saturn Vue!
Tim Taylor would say that there's no such thing as too much power!

If you want to go, you have to have a Class C. I get passed up hill all the time by 5th wheels and Class C . It is a weight to HP thing. It doesnt matter what brand it all HP to weight ratio.

You need a turbocharged diesel.
But you won't climb the CO mountains in 5th gear with a 500HP DP. Unless they have an 8 or 10 speed.
I was trying to find someone with the UP to compare my non UP on a mountain outside of Denver, but there were no takers. I've never been passed by a gas Cl A , climbing a mtn. yet. Yes some C's , DP's and 5th wheels.

Driver,
I read his reply as that the 'hill' could be climbed in 5th gear, as was stated in the original post, if he had a 15 speed tranny.....not necessairly in 'high' gear.

The indisputable answer here remains that a Workhorse with or without Banks or UP and or both still won't climb grades in 5th gear even if it were a 6 speed.
I know the original OP said hills and I've been able to pull hills in 4th but not usually 5th.

Ok, let me make this even clearer.
All things being equal, if I step on the accelerator when I'm UP equipped, will I IMMEDIATELY notice the difference vs pre-UP equipped?

My .02,
Just had it done at the rally in MB by Omey, new plugs and wires also. The drive back to NH was a blast, I did put on a steer safe setup also helped with relaxing. After I got out of the flatlands down that way and hit the NE hills I knew it was worth the money. Next step is S&B Air box and some hi flow mufflers. I laughed with Jon B the other day about hopping up a moho. I've done all this stuff with Harleys and Snowmobiles. Now the Camper, DW thinks I've lost it.

Your stock 8.1l probably churns out around 270-275 HP right now at the rear wheels, with UP it bumps it up to 340-350 HP, it's definetly noticeable...

We have a route we drive over on a somewhat regular basis, before our up install we would always drop out of 5th down to 4th gear numerous times and in 1 particularly steep area down to 3rd. After the up install we only drop out of 5th down to 4th on that steep area and stay in 5th for the rest of the trip. The power difference is very noticable! And don't discount that 1-2 miles per gallon increase! When you start out only getting 6-7 miles per gallon a 1-2 mile per gallon increase is a significant percentage of increase in miles per gallon and a significant decrease in gas bought and the pump!
