My manual says that if MH will not start to disconnect the !@#% auto park. Ok, I can do that BUT is it then ok to tow without disconnecting the driveshaft or pulling the axels ? Don't want to cause trans. damage.
Anyone know for sure ?

Will do. However the manual seem to lead you to believe that it is not necessary. Thanks for the response. I had rather be safe than sorry.

Driver,
Be sure that I understand. Are you saying that I must dissconnect the ebrake as well as disconnect the driveshaft ? I thought that if I disconnected the dshaft that the ebrake was not an issue.

Quite a few times the e-brake might be disengaged at the scene of the failure on the older P-Series and given that the e-brake is disconnected the motorhome can be moved. Sometimes the owner may opt to be towed.
On e-brake failures on newer P-32s and the W series with hydraulic brakes the only method to move the motorhome would be to disconnect the driveshaft and then tow the unit. The hydraulic e-brake remains applied until hydraulic pressure releases the brake. Just like an air brake.

Make sure the driveshaft is free to turn a bit before removing any bolts. If tight, there might be a major danger as it flies apart.

We have definitely seen fatalities if this process is not done properly so you do have to know what you're doing when disconnecting the driveshaft.

Guys, thanks for all of the info. The wrecker driver disconnected the d-shaft and MH is now at the shop. Will let you know the results.

By jacking one rear wheel off the ground for a little bit should take the pressure load off the driveshaft, which then can be safely removed. It shouldn't matter which side.
Don't drop the needles bearing out of the u-joint caps! Ask me how I know that.

Make sure the shop gets all the parts from the tow company or you will be buying new U joints and such.
