Motorhome Brake Problems

I have a 1998 Allegro 33.5 foot motorhome with a Chevy chassis. I have trouble with the brakes getting hot. On one occasion my brakes completely went out. On another occasion I had to replace the front left brake caliper that had burned up. I can not find a mechanic that can tell me why my brakes keep getting hot. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this problem?

Is that a Chevy chassis or Chevy engine on a Workorse chassis (I don't know when Workhorse spun off) with Bosch brakes

If so, check with Workhorse Custom Chassis for the brake recall notice.

Only the W-20, 21 & 22 are effected by the recall. A 1998 motorhome chassis is a Chevy. The Bosch brakes came on-line in 2001.

My 1998 Chevy chassis has bendix brakes in back, they went out after 1500 miles of trip north.
hot 300+ degrees at the rotors on the drivers side rear wheel, cooled, bled and all was fine for return 1,000 miles. Mechanic from Sam rs said it would be a good idea to replace with ceramic pads. He said, this type brake uses pressure to release not spring loaded. So when brakes get hot boil off water can't release. My problem understanding is it was a relatively cool day and they failed while on flat land easy braking for hour before failure.
