Lots of valuable info at workhorse website "my workhorse". But not allison tran model number. Sent email suggesting that be included. Got very nice lengthy response telling me what model I had and where to get manuals. So I used more words and tried again. Guess what response was.
We already told you which one you have.
Anybody else want to try.

SORRY, but I'm confused. If you got the model # you needed in the first "very nice lengthy response" you received, what were you hoping to learn in the second try with more words????
IF you post the last 8 digits (only) of you chassis VIN # , then I "may" be able to access their database, get the info you seek, and send it to you.

As I see it, You were sugesting that workhorse include allison trans info on "the my workhorse" web site so as to not ask workhorse in letter form?
Or something like that...

ctpres, are you wanting your transmission serial #??? Like edgray says (I;m confused too), if you asked for your model number and as you said they responded with your model and where to get info on it, what more do you want?? If they gave you more than you wanted I am impressed with their thoroughness and desire to be helpful.

OP Here: I already had model number but finding it was not easy. Why can't they include model number with all the other chassis data? They already have transmission serial number.

Guess I didn't understand either. What are you trying to find out?
Under "my Motorhome" your tranny serial number is there. All you need to do is go to the allison website and all information is there.

Hope this will help.
The W20 thru W22 chassis ALL use model 1000 series Allison trannys. The W24 thru W25.5 and the UFO (R26) have 2000 series Allison trannys. If you have the S/N then any Allison dealer/distributor should know which model it is if you're trying to get service /parts. Ed

I believe I have figured out what ctpres wants. He thinks that if we all write a letter to Workhorse requesting they show the model number instead of the S/N they may change the way it is listed.
I don't understand the reasoning for that with the warranty being listed with both Workhorse and Allison by S/N.

OK, now I think I understand. ctpres was simply asking WCC to display the Model # AND the S/N in the details provided on "My Workhorse". That seems like a reasonable request, and I have no "ID" why it hasn't been there all along. Unfortunately, what seems like a simple request can sometimes be a "major" programming change when it involves a large database, so I doubt we will see his suggestion implemented.
With the sad news about the closing of the Union City assembly line, there have probably been other "budget issues" affecting the admin staff there also. Whenever I was involved with anything that needed to be corrected on the WCMC webpages (which are "hosted" by the WCC servers), it sometimes took a while for the "I-T" people to fit the time needed for the task into their busy schedules. They were terrific people to work with, but like so many today, are over worked and can only do so much with the time they have. Sometimes they helped me from their home computers in the evenings, and I was impressed by the willingness to help our club even "after hours" ( and certainly without pay). Ed
