Autoline Detroit reports new engine can improve fuel eff 50%

The motor video starts a 1min 34 sec into the report and shows the concept. Rousch Racing is doing a lot of the testing on it.
The motor is modular so you couple more thru a clutch to kick in more power.

The has been all the buzz in the advance engineering papers.

Very cool. Perhaps a replacement for the 8.1 since it has 325 hp and over 600 lb of torque. It could easily fit in the back of my gas pusher.
