So I have to replace all my tires (6) and soon. I know it's been asked, but what will not break me and still work well. Don't think I want to go with Mich. again, way too expensive.

I have 235/80 22.5 Michelin tires on our coach. We bought a new one for our spare as Sam's club in Ocala, Fl. Sam's dosen't carry that size but ordered it and we got it in 2 weeks. $342.00 with tax, then you can get mounted at a truck store for about $30.00 which includes balancing.

I believe michlins cost for a reason as everything does. The old saying" one gets what one pays for"i went through this last year and went with the michlins cause of thier reputation and that is what newmar put on when new.when i was young the guyat the parts counter when i was lookin at helmets said "if you have a 5 cent head put a 5 cent helmet on it" and i still think of that often today michlins have proven themselves on autos and big rigs over and over a lot of years now.......i love my michlins
ps i use to run goodyears on my semi when i drove truck

Thank you mikron for the link to Sam's Club, I will check that out for sure, and yes palehorse89 you are right. But doesn't hurt to check around.

Take a look at this thread: Received Quote on Hankook & Toyo Tires

FWIW, I would stick with the Michelin tire. You may also find them available as a special order at COSTCO for a pretty attractive price.

I just replaced all 6 Goodyear G670 19" with Michelin XZE's that are rated at 16 ply compared to the 12 ply that I had. I had 2 blowouts in the last 2 years with the goodyear and after seeing other inputs on this site, they have a known problem. Look at the pictures and thread. The Goodyear had dates of 06.

Goodyear tires - iRV2 Forums

I JUST FOUND THIS AFTER I POSTED.....INTERESTING

Check with oemtech to see how his new Sumitomo tires are working out. I have also been looking around and will need some this spring. Good Luck and let us know what you end up with. JP

I am satisfied with my Sumitomo's and Magnum Beards. The price was about the best I could find around my area. I also was able to do business with an old school guy... He made me a quote and we shook hands and it was a done deal. His shop is 5 mins from my house and 50 miles from where the RV is. I got 6 new 6/2010 tires mounted, balanced and tax for $1,855.00.

I looked at Toyo's and Michelin's. The Toyo's were about the same as the Sumitomo's. But, Michelin's were out of sight price was and both were in Austin, Tx (traffic up the wazoo).

IMHO - Michelin's are good tires but over priced.

Could you please give me the numbers of the tires you bought for your RV?

Tire identification is what I'm looking for.

Thank you,

Bob

I bought 6 new Toyo 22" tires last year. Paid $1810 out the door. I am happy with them so far and they have a good ride. They do smell like your black water tank for awhile, but that goes away with a few miles.

Hi YosemiteBobR,
Go to Michelin Tire Deal For FMCA Members and read about the deal for FMCA members. This may help on the price of Michelin tires.
