Need Oil dipstick tube part #

I can not find the lower half of the oil dipstick tube. I found dipstick #12557471, top of tube #W0005246. But unable to find the lower half of the tube that goes into the oil pan? Anyone have a part #? Workhorse in my area can not find it.

Have you checked with a Chevrolet (or GMC) dealer? The 8.1 liter engine was used on GM pickups for a fairly long time. The reason Workhorse can't find a part number may be because it is an engine part (GM) and not a Workhorse part. I had a similar problem several years ago with the oil lever sensor. Workhorse had no part number. I had to go to Chevrolet.

Motorhomes obviously have much longer dipsticks than Chevy trucks.
Good luck if it's Workhorse exclusive.

Chev all have short tubes. I'm still looking, tomorrow I'll try another workhorse service center.

I would send an E-Mail to Dale Olson at his website. He is very knowledgeable on Workhorse stuff and could very well have the part in question.

I was unaware the dipstick tube is in two parts; but if it is as you say, it may be that the top half is an extension from Workhorse and the bottom half the original GM pickup dipstick tube.

PAZ,
You hit the nail on the head. Local GMC truck dealer is ordering it for me. Part #125700590 tube, seal #24504091. Thank you for the lead.
