Ok here's the situation, ordered Bilsteins for the 03 HR the exact shock called for out of the book for this coach, I don't have the number in front of me right now, Just spent 2 hrs at the RV shop in Saco ME, they had to get a larger impact gun to free up the OME shock. They get ready to install the first new one and they are no way even close to what is on there, the bolt holes are too small and the shock itself looks way to small, they call Bilstein and after 2 more hrs. they tell them the only shock they make for the Workhorse is one with independent front suspention. Can this be true? Is this a blessing in disguise, should I have gone strait to Koni's. Any and all advise is greatly apprecited.
Thanks from Bayley's Campgroud in Scarborough ME.

My coach came from factory with Bilsteins.
The part number for '98-'03 front are: BE5-B492-HO, Rear : BE5-A011-HO
The fronts changed in '04 to :BE5-B492-MO, and rear is the same.
I changed a year ago to Koni shocks and will never go back, like night and day. (edit to add last line)

03HRVacationer,
I put the Koni's on my coach last year and love them. They reduce bumps, and rattles, over rough roads and railroad tracks etc. and handle very well. Cornering and ride on smooth roads is firm and stable. I feel they were one of the very best things I did for my coach.

We're getting Koni FSD shocks installed on our Allegro Bay 37DB on July 17th. Now all I have to do is figure out a way to sell the Bisteins that are coming off! I'll report on the overall ride of the Koni's on the 21st. of July as we are taking the MH down to Middlebury, Indiana the next day or 18th. Of July and returning back to Michigan on the 20th. I hope to be a happy camper. Chuck/Bagman57

I've been running Koni FSD shocks for almost 3 years and I am very pleased with them.
Brazel's RV Performance has announced that they will provide one free nights camping in their new RV Park when you schedule an appointment to have a set of Konis installed on your coach.

I also have been running Koni's now for almost 2 years and they really made a difference in the ride of my coach.
One of the best improvements I made.

Oemy is going to all Koni's. I will install the rears when I get back from IRV2 National.

Thanks you all your comments, the Koni's are on order, Thanks for taking time to respond, Driver it was intersting reading your posts back in 03 when you first got your coach, and the upgrade list, good stuff. I'll learn to search before I ask questions that have been answered a thousand times in here already.

For some reason you received the wrong shocks and bad information. I changed the OEM shocks (not even safe to be on a baby carrage)on my W22 when new to Bilstein's. I've never been unhappy with the Bilstein's however, it does sound like the Koni's are a better shock.
