How long does it take to get one of these adapters after you order it? How do you order it?

It won't take near as long to get the adapter as it takes for WH to senf one to the WH svc cntr. Click on OEM 's website link to order, earlier in this thread.

Thanks Max. Local WH dealer stocks the filter but I'd rather have the adapter, however, I'm going south about the 14th Feb. weather permiting. I'd like to have one or the other.

Max,
But, the fuel filter uses a 20 mm wrench, the fuel line nuts are 16 mm and in most cases the the clamp bolts are 1/2" SAE. Also, 86 the channel locks in favor of a small Crescent wrench.

I went to the site last Wednesday evening and used their interface which was simply an email to them. I got a reply on Thursday as to what info they needed which I then replied to them. Friday I received confirmation that it would be USPS to me ASAP and received it yesterday (Wednesday a week after my initial email). So I would say that within a week you should be able to get the product in your hands.
Great looking product and good people to do business with IMHO.

The wrenches u see in the pic worked.
16MM = 5/8" 19MM = 3/4" either one works but a 20mm would be a little sloppy on the filter.

I was curious too so I found I was using a 3/4 - 13/16" combo wrench which the 13/16 side works if you don't have a 20mm wrench, which is a pretty rare wrench size. (I'm a toolaholic) with numerous sets of metric wrenches including Craftsman, Gear Wrench and HF with sizes from 6mm to 28mmand every one of them skip the 20mm wrench, and socket sets skip it too. 13/16 is like 20.64 mm ish so it works fine.)
Just trying to be hepful. Like I said, climbing to and from under the MH to get the right size wrenches was the hardest part of the job. A crescent wrench would have worked to hold the adapter but since I had the channel locks, they worked.
I doubt if I could change the filter without disconnecting all 3 lines. My intake line makes a sharp U turn to go into the filter already.(missed it in the pic) There just is'nt enough slack in the line, to be able to pull it out without risking the threads or kinking the line.

Ideally, a Flare Nut Wrench should be used on these fittings.

Max,
You are correct on the 20 mm being an odd size. But, then GM does some odd things that nobody but them can explain. I am sure it was done for a reason.
Tom N,
You are correct that "Flare wrenches" should be used. But, unless you are a mechanic or have need for Flare wrenches I would suspect the average Joe won't have a use for them after they did the install. I have a set and I might use them once a year if that.

I installed mine in 35 minutes from loosening the first nut to tightening the last. It would have taken less time had I a 16 & 20MM wrench, I had to fumble with the crescent wrench. Off to Sears to buy one of each.
Great job OEM Engineering
