So, we're here at Harrisburg, PA at the Harrisburg East CG. Not too bad a place, a GS park and much less expensive then the one over in Hershey. The ride up on US 15 was uneventful. The front Koni's seemed to help a lot but I will reserve judgement until I get the rears on. The front trac bar showed a good improvment than before. I could easilly tell the difference. Didnt have much porposing and very few trucks ran up nex to me, so the sway bar didn't get much of a review. The rig was easier to drive though.
We'll be here for 3-5 days, all depending on what the wife needs insofar as her geneology searches go. An Mike, this dang MIFI is the neatest thing to come down the pike for $35.00.
I don't want to get off topic, but yes, we do follow the books instructions on retracking the jacks, turning the system off and driving with the store button on. Enough said, maybe I'll start a new thread, then again, maybe not. I'm going to check out my little class 6 locker and see what I can see.
Bob

What I was trying to say. Let it store itself and leave it till it times out and shuts itself off. The jackes will be fully retracted and not cause alarms. Worked for me on my W22 Chassie.
You might need new springs as well - easy to install and cheap to buy.

I just replaced 4 Beilsteins and 2 Monroes with the Koni's and I can't tell how much nicer it is to drive. No more swaying, no more blowing over from trucks coming the other way, and almost dead straight in a cross wind. With no wind it is hands off. Use to drift constantly before. I couldn't believe it. Oh and that jackassing bridge going from West Memphis into Memphis on 55, It don't throw you out of the seat anymore.

Perry White, I am glad to hear that you are getting a great ride on your new Koni FSD shocks.

JCM thanks, I'm going to try the time out next time I retract the jacks.

On the jack alarm issue--
I have had two alarms on my current trip. It always is the right rear doing it.
I put the new type springs on about 3 years ago.
I called HWH two days ago and told the man that called me back, I was going to rip that sucker out and send it back to him to adjust, or rebuild, as necessary. My wife goes into orbit when it goes off . Usually it's in heavy traffic and over bumpy roads. He said that won't help my problem.
He said the problem is "heat, and expansion". He then asked my sequence of events getting ready for the road. I explained that after I retracted the slides, then the jacks, I usually shut the rig down and pull out my wooden pads I used under all the jacks, and then store the pads. Then, I unhook everything and look the rig over, from stem to stern, and leave. He said "there in, is my problem"- -
Heat and expansion of the fluid is the culprit. After I restart the coach, put the jack system back on and retract the jacks a second time, and leave it on. My system will shut itself off in 2 minutes (and it does!).
Guess what? It seems to work on the last two days of travel. I'll post updates.
If it doesn't work 100%, I'll crawl under the rig, trace the hyd line causing the problem, and insulate it from it's unwanted heat source.
Oh, I always use the wooden blocks to prevent lighting strikes having a direct path to ground. Ask Driver about this- I also have another friend who had similiar damage during "Katrina" with a lighting strike.

Just had all 4 of my Bilsteins replaced with Koni's, so far so good.
I haven't taken a long trip with them yet though.

You should notice a big difference, I did although my Bilsteins might have been pretty worn out. The first thing I noticed is most all the rattles I had went away! The second was I didn't feel all the tar strips, road bumps etc. The third thing was they control the swaying way better. Before the Konis my DW stated riding in the MH was like being on the boat in rough seas.
I've spent a lot of money on the chassis to get it right and the Koni FSD's were worth the price.

We're at the KOA Nittany Moutain/Williamsport PA and have been so for 6 days now. We're moving a little further west tomorrow to Clearfield, PA where we should be for about 4 days. Then we head back to eastern PA and I have an app't next week at the shop have the rear Koni's and new jack springs installed. The ride over here last week with the front Koni's, rear way bar and front trac bar made quite a bit of difference than before. I look forward to the install of the rears.

And PA roads will break them in and let you know their worth!
PA has some of the worst roads in the Country!

I can certainly attest to that. I-81 going from the beginning of I-78 over the mountains to I-80 at Hazelton has some of the roughest pavements with the nastiest pot holes that I've seen. Lots of roads in PA are bad and this stretch is amongst the worst.

Some of the roads here in PA I won't even travel on anymore our infrastructure in the State has gotten very poor and has been so for years!
One thing I must say though the new Konis have seemed to be an improvment even here in PA!
