I'v had serious brake problems. Right now the brakes are freed up. Would it do any good to have it worked on? Would I get the same calipers?

ronmc, What year vehicle do you have and I would also ask what your immediate needs are? If you need to be on the road, you might possibly opt for remanufactured calipers until the recall rolls out. If it's not so critical, I might chose to wait until the recall begins.

These are decisions that are best made by you the owner. Only you know what your immediate needs are and you should address those.

To answer your question, IF you did have the brakes worked on, "Yes" you would get the same calipers. Getting those right now, not too bad of an idea if you need them since they should last well past this interim period of time while we're waiting for the NextGen caliper to come to market.

Is it money wasted, "Not if it helps you achieve your goals." In the end the replacement calipers will be replaced with new ones.

If I were having "serious brake problems", I would take my rig to a Workhorse service center and have the brakes inspected. If they found problems I would attempt to have them repaired under the interim notice. If Workhorse replaced anything well and good if not or they did not replace all four I would do so on my nickel and then have them do it again when the recall starts.

The only difference between a boat and a motorhome is for the motorhome you have to dig the hole to throw the money in a boat the water just swallows it.
