I love my W22 Pace Arrow that I have had for 3 years with 55,000 trouble free miles. I was at the local RV show this weekend and traded for a new W24 Pace Arrow. The Workhorse product is tops in my book and the Pace Arrow 38P is the best use of space for my money after looking at many other brands.I keep up with the threads and thought it was time to say something good and positive about the product we all have under our ...um..seats.

Top of the line gas coach with a nice floor plan. I like the 2 couches, rather then a chair and a couch.

I like the shalestone exterior color scheme.

Tom,
I have had the Shalestone exterior on my 37C with the Ultraleather interior. The new 38P has Gold Rush exterior with Ultraleather and aged bronze interior. Both have cherry cabinets W/D, power sunvisor and all other options. The 38P has the only option I did not get on my 37C, exterior entertainment center, now will have 4 tv's to drive the wife crazy, LOL.

Richard,
Have you put on a few miles on the new coach so you can give us some idea as to how the W22 compares to the new W24?

I was wondering how the W24 with the "tuned" Bilsteins compares to the W22 w/Koni's.
Any difference in the braking?
How about the 6 vs 5 speed tranny for pulling hills, how often does it down-shift?
How about gas mileage, is it much lower with the W24, assuming you have more weight now?

You'll probably need the Ultrapower even sooner if you're carrying more weight now.

Well if you haven't put enough miles on the new rig yet to answer these questions, maybe in a few months you can bump this to the top with a reply that gives us "one man's opinion" how they compare.

Enjoy the new coach!!!
Bill

Bill,
I have not put many miles on yet. Short trip, couple of hundred miles in two weeks. Then two weeks after that we will go down to Perry Ga. I will get a better feel for it on that trip. I will post my opinion, pro and con as compared to the W22.
Thank you,

Richard

Not to sound like sour grapes, but I really wish more manufacturers would use the push button shifter on the W24.

The problem is that it costs more money so the OEMs are not inclined to spend more money over and above the supplied manual shifter.

Update:
Returned the 38P. Picked it up last week with the dealer knowing I would have to try it for a week and see if it would work for us. It is a nice unit... larger slides in living room with two couches, king bed, outside entertainment center. The drawback for us was too much loss of storage space. The wife lost 4 drawers in kitchen, plus 3 big kitchen drawers for pots and pans. Then she lost 4 big drawers and half of the wardrobe in the bedroom and the shoe rack. I was trying to make everything fit in the basement, but losing approx. 40 cube feet makes it tough.
Oh well...I wanted a UFO any way.
Will wait it out for a UFO with a floorplan that we like.

Sounds like they took up all the room with T.V.'s

Never heard of a dealer letting you try it, you'll like it program. Wish they all would.
