Hi, I am a new owner of a fleetwood Pace Arrow on a chevy workhorse 24. On my drive home from the dealership (About 150 Miles into the trip) I was on a slight incline and as I depressed the gas pedal the coach seemed to have no power to go any faster and started to stutter. I released the gas and depressed again, still no power. I coasted for a few hundred feet and then pressed the gas again and the coach ran fine for about 5 minutes. The problem started again. No warning lights on the dash. I pulled over and turned off the engine for about 30 minutes. I started the engine up again and drove fine for about 45 miles and the problem occurred again. still no engine warning lights. I pulled off the road and waited with the engine off and I finished my drive home of about 20 miles. As I pulled into my street the engine warning light came on solid. Any thoughts on what might be causing this. I am waiting on an appointment with a workhorse mechanic. Not pleased so far with workhorse on a brand new coach.

Welcome sdcgkc to the Workhorse forum and irv2.
While this was happening it was not raining was it.
Nothing in your profile as yet so do not know where you live and weather.

<LI> My question would be, was this motorhome a lot queen or was it delivered from the factory?
a. Lot queen - perhaps condensation and contaminants in gasoline loss of power etc has been experienced by other owners. Dry gas helped.
b. If not perhaps the problem is related to the TPS or TCM Throttle position sensor or throttle control module. I have experienced loss of power and no throttle in the most inopportune times however changing the TCM (looks like a silver box up high next to brake pedal) resolved that problem and its been fine ever since. A Tech II test instrument will point to these devices if they are defective.

I regret your initial problem however resolving this should get you back up and running trouble free. It's not a good way to get going out of the blocks but hang in there.

If you need help finding a service center we can offer you assistance there.

Thanks for the quick responses, We have a 2008 fleetwood pace arrow now with just under 200 miles. The coach had just over 14 miles on it when we picked it up on friday. The drive home was rain free. It was about 34 degrees outside and dark. We were driving from PA back to Maryland where we live. Two weeks ago we went to the factory to see the coach being made. So it only sat on the dealership's lot for 2 days before we picked her up.

One more note our unit is the 36D floorplan, we do love it, just a little frustrated at the moment. The chassis according to the VIN number is actually a 2007 Workhorse chassis even though the Pace Arrow is a 2008 model.

At best the time can be 30 days or as much as 60-90 days out. It just depends on how Fleetwood has their just-in-time ordering schedule set up.

On your 2007 chassis you should have all the latest features including the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new motorhome and welcome to the Workhorse family of owners.

Sounds like fuel starvation or moisture.
Bare chassis/fuel tank may have gotten exposed to foreign material before assembly of coach.
Check fuel filter.

This is exactly the same as what happened to my coach. The service center cleared the code(s) and tried to duplicate the situation, ... never happened again. That was about 8000 miles ago. My fingers are crossed, it is a great chassis, sometimes things happen.

SDCGKC: Welcome to iRV2.com, and CONGRATULATIONS on getting your NEW W-24 powered Pace Arrow 36D. My wife and I love that FP and would have already bought one if it was offered on the UFO.

I'm just being nosey here, but I would like to know how you were able to buy a coach with only 14 miles on it. I did not know Fleetwood allowed factory pickup. Obviously, you have a brand new product; it is a shame you had problems right out of the box. I'm betting the problem can be found quickly and repaired easily, certainly at no cost to you, other than time and agravation.

Again, Congratulations and thanks for joining us here in the Workhorse forum. If we can help you with adding rig-specific info to your "signature", please let me know. ED

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there in RV land. Hope all your turkey day gatherings are enjoyable.

Because this is the Workhorse forum, I have to say that we have an overflow house full of family and friends at our place, so the W-20 parked on the pad is going to be full for the weekend. Good thing for Pepcid AC!

Bob
