I know a lot of people have had brake problems, and yes, I'm concerned about it too.....but I'd like to here from those that have NOT had any problems.......Like, what chasis, how many miles..and perhaps your driving habits as far as brake issues are concerned....and any brake mainteance you've done.

I haven't had any brake problems on my '04 P'32 chassis in 22000 miles. I drive back and forth across the Rockies, often with the ATV trailer with out brakes.
I always come down in a low enough gear that I seldom need to stab the brakes.
As far as brake maintenance goes, well, I took the master cylinder top off just so I knew that I knew how to do it.
Heck, I've never did any brake maintenance on any vehicle I've ever owned until it had at least 60.000 miles and the shoes or pads were wore out.

supercub, if you will use the search feature at the top of the page, I believe you can find results of a brake survey that was done on this forum just a few months ago. Should answer your inquiry.

Dieselclacker, That's debatable.
I will be working on preparing a poll which may take a couple of days. I expect that it will be based on data and will achieve a conclusion. I hope to be able to present a summary with the conclusions that were achieved.
A good poll needs to be as neutrally biased as possible and it's not easy to prepare.

No problems with my breaks except getting used to how quick they are. It's like stopping a large car not a motorhome. I have 4400 miles on the coach.

Replaced under warranty
Perfectly safe to drive that way

I have a 2004 W-22 with 45,000miles. Only maintenance, I changed the brake fluid in the master cylinder at 43,000 miles. Live in Kansas winter in Arizona, and go to western Colorado and Utah every summer. Have had no brake problems.

I agree with Gramps. The brakes on the UFO are very, very good.

In your Poll, try to include the RV Manufacturer, to see if ALL Coach builders are having issues. Just in case there is a connection.

'03 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 36B on a W22 chassis, 39,514 miles. Change the fluid and lube the slide pins at least every 2 years (have it in my maintenance plan for every 15k or 24 months). Pulled a front wheel last summer to inspect pads and rotors, pads show very little wear, rotors have small surface cracks which I would consider normal. Have had no problems with my brakes. I make at least 2 trips to Wa state from Tx annually along with trips to MD towing a trailer or car. Not in a hurry, drive 55 - 60, maintain plenty of distance from vehicles ahead. As far as I am concerned, the W22 chassis is the best chassis I have ever owned. Very happy with the combination of power (8.1 and Allison trans) and braking. I have never felt that my coach was unsafe to drive or I would not be driving it. Now if I can just get rid of all of the Fleetwood rattles...

Not sure why it would be 'debatable'. If you feel that 'a good poll needs to be as nuetrally biased as possible', then I guess no one has ever called your house before a major election. In my county, we get many of these 'polls' at election time and none of them have ever been 'nuetral', it's simply a means to obtain information just before you go and mark your ballot.
I'll look forward to the poll, especially if Workhorse is interested in the results...
But to stay on thread, yes, and it was filed with the NHTSA.

Maybe it could somehow be tied into the Ford forum and they could take the same poll, with the basic questions being applicable to them. I'd love to see side-by-side results with both these manufacturers over a range of say 2000 through 2008 model years.
