I have had an ongoing problem, that when I am running on cruise, and turn the headlights or windshield wipers on, cruise control goes away and will not turn on, until I turn light and wipers off.
Another, when running on cruise and make a lane change turn signal, left or right, cruise drops but it can be restored. This is a little bother besides the problem with the light and wipers.
I have made several trips with these problems to Terry Labonte RV in Greensboro, N.C. and they cannot, for some reason, cannot duplicate these problems.
Has anybody had these and has a fix?

Why the wipers would kill the Cruise I can not fantom.. UNLESS... (later)

As for the lights or turn signal.. that is an easy one.. Unlelss (Later #2)

A poor ground on the tail/stop lights will kill the Cruise when the tail lights come on

Later-1: if the Cruise module has a sudden deceleration module.. If it shares a ground with the wiper motor and it's a poor ground.

Later-2: Short in steering column wireing.

I vote with John-D on loose connection within the steering hub. You may be able to work some slack cable upwards; the ribbon cable, that is. Mine didn't like for the wheel to be at full upward tilt. Good luck!!

I had the same thing happen to me in 2008. I had to have my dash cluster replaced on my 2005 Admiral. I told the dealer of no cruise control with headlights or wipers on. They did a lot of checking, moving wires, etc. not knowing if they could find the problem or not. WELL, THEY DID and whatever was wrong, is now fixed.
