I have a 2004 Allegro 32BA, on the Workhorse chassis, on our trip over the weekend, driving down the road, running the OBDII computer software, I got a message on the instrument cluster that said No J1939 Activity, just before the message it was displaying the oil pressure. What is this? Is the coach in trouble?

Send a message via AIM to oemtech
That msg means that the cluster software is not getting any info from ECM. I would hook and exteranl OBD II scanner to the connector and see if you get anything.

oemtech and All, I was running OBD II software on the computer when I got the message! I later turned off the coach and started the message went away and the oil presser returned. Does this sound like trouble on the way?

Ok... check your connections on the OBD II cable to the PC.

Also, be aware there are some serial to usb problems with some OEM's. That's either the box or the serila/usb gender changer.

I get the same "No J1939 Activity" message the one time was able to use my new ScanGuageII this winter. Everything appeared to return to normal after it was disconnected. I have not connected it since. I guess I should check the same things? Any harm in using the Scanguage if the message continues to be displayed? Glenn 2005 Safari Trek W20

I wander if the OBDII scan software somehow robed, or at least interfered with, the signal to the instrument cluster?

As far as I'm aware this seems to be a somewhat isolated issue on some vehicles. We have used the Scangauge on a wide range of obd2 vehicles and have not experienced the "No J1939 Activity" display. Those of you having problems may need to send your scangauge's to the company and have them checked out. Their contact info is: scangauge@linear-logic.com
