OK guys, here we go, brakes again! Received a letter today from Workhorse stating; "Upon complete rewiew of your request and the information you have provided, we are not in a position to provide you with reimbursement for your claim". Really, should I have expected anything else out of "customer friendly" Workhorse. This is crazy, I have provided everthing Workhorse requested and then some, to include detailed receipts, maintanence history records and photographs of my brake failure, that being all four rotors cracked all the way through from defective calipers. My motor home is covered under the pending recall and I meet the time frames for reimbursement, yet I am told tough luck with no explaination. Go figure. Has anyone else been turned down by Workhorse? Well, gotta go and post this on every other RV Forum.

Rick, was the work performed at an "Authorized" WCC service center?

Does a Authorized WCC have to get pre-approval from W/H before work can be performed for the repairs? This may be part of the non-reimbursement problem.

Yes, the work was performed by an "authorized Workhorse Service Center", Redlands Truck Service, Redlands, Ca. in April 2008. Because of the defective calipers they had to replace all four calipers, all four rotors and a bunch of other parts. As usual, Workhorse will not stand behind their customers even when they know they are wrong. Also at the time I had to have these repairs done, Workhorse would not even acknowledge that there was a brake problem.

I find this quite disturbing that W/H is denying that the calipers and other parts needed replacing by one of their quite reputable WCC's. It seems one of the W/H reps here on this forum should step in and help resolve this. Otherwise, maybe you should write to the Good Sam guy that seems to help people get their reimbursements. Just what W/H needs is more publicity.

You can report to www.ftc.gov. I think the best way is to report over the phone and talk to a real person. The rep I talked to said they would love to tackle this problem but they need everyone who is turned down to report it. They also said the more reports they get the better it will be. So here we go again.

Let's see, Workhorse owned by Navistar. Navistar and Monaco owned a joint venture for the Roadmaster Chassis. Roadmaster Chassis built chassis for both Monaco and Workhorse under contract. The CEO of Navistar sat on the BOD of Monaco. Monaco filed chapter 7 and denied warranty claims to both customers and dealers. Roadmaster Chassis filed chapter 7. Navistar buys assets of Monaco and gets Roadmaster for free. Monaco, Navistar and Roadmaster Chassis all off the hook for any recalls and warranty claims for those chassis.

All Monaco 32,000 Lb Chassis owners are now discovering that their 20,000 Lb rear axles are only 19,000 lb axles and most are running overweight unloaded, Monaco, no liability. All RR4R Chassis are starting to fail and Monaco LLC/RV/Whatever and Navistar are again off the hook due to the bankruptcy.

Takes Workhorse 4 years to agree to a recall when they knew they had a brake defect. Workhorse now starting to deny claims.

See a pattern, anyone?

Yea, let's support Monaco, Workhorse and Navistar, they deserve a second chance!

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!

Folks,

We appreciate how civil the Workhorse members have been and some members have commented with the same observation.

Let's keep the posts in compliance with iRV2's rules and not allow them to deteriorate into rants and inflammatory posts.

We thank you for your cooperation.

As I understand it one person has been denied reimbursement with as of yet no followup. The reason for denial has not been discovered yet. I think I will reserve a judgmental opinion until I see a pattern of denials with no justification or that reimbursements are being issued to others. I cannot see condemnation after just one denial with no followup inquiries as to why. I will for now keep an open mind and not have Navistar closing the doors just yet.

My son in law was turned down with the same story as Rick on a W-22 chassis and the work performed by a authorized dealer.

Rick, is it possible your repair was prior to the recall? It seems the covered repairs have been accomplished after the issuance of the recall.
