A few weeks ago while in Grants, NM, We awoke to a heavy fog/dew. We prepared to leave but when I hit the started, NOTHING.

We called for service (batteries were all 100%) and waited. About 1 1/2 hour later and no service help, I tried it again. This time the starter jerked just a bit. I hit the starter another half dozen times and it started.

I hesitated to turn it off while we hooked up the toad but after that I did shut it down. The restart was perfect and we have had no problems since.

I suspect the dew had something to do (no pun intended) with it.

Comments?

Dean

That sounds like a loose connection at the battery or at the starter. Try
cleaning and retightening the posts at the battery. If that doesn't work, try tightening connection at the starter.

I'll second the motion. Remove the lower half of the plastic surround on the steering column, then observe your wire bundles as they bend when yopu asdjust the tilt wheel up & down. Several past threads on this in the WCC forum. Chafing wires cause intermittent shorts (or worse).

Like troth said check wire bundle, than place a wire guard around bundle to protect over curved metal piece over top of steering post. Had a brake down and smoke rise from steering wheel at rest area stop, had to be toad to shop for replacement of wire harness, gnd wire had burnt insulation off couldn't start. Every time you move steering wheel up and down wire harness pulls tight over this bend. "007"
