Greetings,
Recently, I've been hearing a strange noise coming from my fuel tank area. It's a high pitch sound and to me, it sounds like the fuel pump is straining to pump fuel. I dont know if this sound is normal, I just dont remember if this sound has been present since I purchased this coach new. Any thoughts?

classic60, Welcome to iRV2.com.

Does the sound change if the tank is full or half or empty and then when was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

It's probably the fuel pump. I used to drive a van (one of those empty cargo hauling type) which the back was just a big empty metal cavern. You could hear the fuel pump constantly. The empty rear part of the van magnified the sound.

When under or near the back of our moho I can hear the fuel pump. Although it's not real noisy.

I've noticed the sound when the tank is at all levels of fuel My coach is an 03 with 13K miles on it and I plan to change out the filter this week. Maybe noisy is the wrong term, how about audible...It does sound like a small electrical motor. If it's the fuel pump, is it normal for it to be clearly audible? What is stumping me is that don't remember if it always made that sound and I never noticed it until now.

Yes, I can hear mine anytime the engine is running, when I'm near the rear of the coach. I don't however notice it when I'm inside, even in the bedroom area, but it's probably because the exhaust drowns it out. I believe you are correct in stating just an audible noise.

Bob,

That sounds about right. I can only hear it when I'm outside near the rear of the coach. From inside or anywhere else, I can't hear it. Sounds like this is normal.

Thanks
