I wonder how many barrels of oil would be saved in U.S. consumption if everyone went on the 7500 mile program? I bet a lot, maybe our government could create a mandate to require proof of mileage before oil could be sold to you or better yet, require all vehicle manufacturers to build engines, transmissions etc that only run on synthetic lubricants and also require those synthetic lubricant manufacturers to price their products to not gouge the public. They could even offer tax break incentives to those that change to synthetic (like tax free purchase)
Maybe Al Gore could head this one up, if he's not too busy in the private sector now.
Now that my gas mileage is up to about 7.5, I can get smart about oil. Ha!

Yes yes, you are right. We want all the corporate wonders who gave us ABCP, LTC, Enron, Global Crossings, etc to help us. They really know the public interest.

There seems to be a lack of confidence in our government to control what they deem best for the American public.

For all of us RVers let's hope the US government does not try to control oil pricing.
