Looking for replacement oil filler cap for my 2006 W24 8.1 gas engine. Parts stores keep giving me one that doesn't fit.
Any of you have the specification for the cap?

On my '02 GMC pickup with 8.1L, the part number is AC Delco # FC210 or GM# 12574265. Should be the same for your WH 8.1.

Sorry, but I don't know the cap "specs". Have you tried the parts counter at a Chevy dealership? I'll bet they know, and may even have one in stock. Ed

Paul T.

I got a replacement cap from Advance Auto Parts. I can't remember the part number. Only writing on the cap is 5-30W SAE. Measure the inside diameter of the oil filler tube and they should be able to figure it out.

Anybody check Oemy's website? I bet he has a cross reference number kicking around in there somewhere.

You have me feeling a bit silly now OEMTECH in that of these part numbers I still have no idea which one would fit my engine. I don't have the old cap.

Basically you should be able to take any of the GM/AC Delco numbers at any GM/AC Delco parts house to get the cap. The Gates or Stant numbers are after market version of the cap and can be purchased at most auto parts houses.

Thru my own stupity, I lost the oil cap to my MH while were on the road. When to a local Chevy dealer and asked for an oil cap for a 2001 Yukon/Tahoe. I drive a 2001 Yukon.
When I got home, I attached a piece of cable between the cap and the body. No more forgotten caps.
