Well my wife retired the end of Jan. and we are now official snow birds. We left home last Thursday and no more than got on the I-75 south in Detroit when the engine light came on again. This has been an on going issue since we bought the MH a year ago. I think the purchasing dealer just reset the computer the first time. Our local WH repair center replaced the map sensor which didn't work and then the O2 sensors which fixed the problem for a while. We did about 5000 or 6000 mile before the light came on again last fall. I took it back to the local WH center and all they did was a reset. We didn't use the MH again until last week and like I said as soon as we hit I-75 it came on again.

When we first had this problem it was causing an excessively rich mixture and lots of smoke out the exhaust. This time it only seems to be smoking a little after we shut the motor off and restart at a rest stop or something. It also seems to have a miss and low power for a short time and then it's like someone flips a switch and everything is back to normal. On a cold start it doesn't seem to do this.
We are in Ruskin Fl. this week and I'm going to look around for shop to have a look.
Any advice?

The MH had the Banks system on it when we bought it so I have no experience without it.
Someone else mentioned that the computer should have been reprogrammed after the Banks install but I don't know if it needs to be and if so if it was or not.

Maybe that's it. What ever the one is called that sits in the intake just after the air filter. Anyway it didn't help after it was changed.

Yes, that is where it is. M*** Air Flow sensor tells the engine computer how much air is available for the air to fuel ratio calculations. IF it gets dirty or wet it can cause performance issues. Ed

UPDATE:
I took it into a shop in Plant City Fl last Monday and they found 5 bad spark plugs and 1 bad o2 sensor. That's the 4th O2 sensor in the last year.

I guess I will be upgrading to the different spark plugs and wires. I haven't had to change plugs in other vehicles for a long time (tens of thousands of miles) but the MH only has 15000 mile and it needed plugs????

They also installed a cold air duct kit to blow cool air on the plugs.

Everything seems to be fine again now.

Gary, do you have an aftermarket cold air intake, like K&N? If you do, maybe someone has over-oiled the element. That's a good way to mess up the MAF.

I don't have a cold air kit but I do have a K&N filter in the stock box.
The Tech II only showed a problem with the plugs and O2 sensor so that's all they fixed. I've run it about 500 miles since, all seems fine.
It remains to be seen whether the cold air hoses they installed to cool the plugs does anything.

Owner's such as yourself are getting a great amount of benefit from it. What ya have to watch out for is the manner in which the discharge ends of the pipes are fitted to the area that needs the relief.
