Grease it till you here a cracking popping sound made by the grease as it comes out. Do it slowly as there are small rubber seals around the needle bearings. Make sure you see & here it come out of all 4 cups. As long as you pump slow you can put in all the grease you want but excess will fling off & make a mess. The good part is that wherever the grease lands under the chassis it will not rust! Art

Welcome Art!

You're correct about leaving large blobs of grease on the shaft as it will coat the immediate area around the shaft.

How about the telescoping spline fitting? I read a comment some time ago that too much grease could cause a hydraulic lock and create excessive end forces. Any truth?

I should have said "Propshaft slipjoint'. It is Item 10 on the Chassis Lubrication chart, Page 25 of my manual. Also the same chart is on page 94 of the Workhorse Gas RV Chassis Maintenance Guide pdf.

I do not believe that you are going to see or get grease to appear out of the collar of the spline shaft. A few good pumps are adequate to the task.

Art;
I am not sure if anyone has welcomed you to IRV2, Workhorse, or the Winnebago Owner's Forum so I want to do that.

I also notice you don't have any Winnebago Karma. If you want some just say yes and it is yours.

Don

Agree with DriVer. I don't press grease too hard at the spline zerk because of the spline seals.

I grease just enough to feel resistance..with a pnuematic gun...one light squirt from trigger.
