On my way on a 180 mile trip Friday night we were about 120 miles into the trip my husband notice the temp gauge was one line from danger section. It was about 80 degrees outside and I kept driving for about 50 miles I saw no change. I pulled the MH over and hung out for 30 mins. It cooled down and immediately jumped back to the same place. We sit a our RV site from Friday until Sunday drove back the 180 mile trek it was about 80 degress on Sunday. The needle did not move and stayed in the middle point. Should we be concerned get it checked out or is this just a fluke. We did change the oil and transmission fluid changed before this trip. We drove both coming and going around 55-60 MPH. We took no toad this time. We also was not running the dashboard A/C. I am concerned because I am due to travel on Thursday for a 500 mile trip to Ohio.

Did you hear the engine fan engage (loud roar)? The engine clutch fan should kick in at about 204 to 207 degrees and drop out at about 200 degrees. Also, check your water level in the recovery tank AND the radiator (take the cap off). Of course do this when the radiator is cold.

I find it puzzling that the temp gage stayed in the "normal" range on the way home from your trip. Like OEM says, check all of your fluid levels again on level ground. If all is well, it could be a bad sensor or a temporarily stuck thermostat.
