Thanks in advance for any help!

that's why one should NEVER call his vehicle a "P37". Both P32s AND P12s have that sequence in the VIN. BIG difference between those two.

one more time... IT'S JUST A VIN SEQUENCE, NOT A MODEL NAME

quick hint--- if a letter 'B' follows the 'P37', then you have a P12. If a 'J' or 'N' (as some examples) follow the 'P37', you have a P32. Those letters are engine codes. P12s ONLY have a 'B' code 454 engine.

At the beginning of this thread (over a year ago!) you mentioned standard and wide-track versions of the P32 chassis. My '98 Pace Arrow Vision M36B has the standard (narrow, IMO) track front end; is it possible for me to upgrade to the wide-track version?

Depends on how much money you are willing to spend. You would essentially be replacing the front axle. And at least part of the steering linkages, since the wheels end up further apart.

You also need to make sure your front wheel wells have room for a wider track.

Seems that somebody, maybe Brazel's Click here...>>>>> WIDE TRACK has these available. For myself the narrow track doesn't bother me in the least and even gives me some room to crawl up in the fender well. Also there's a lot more parts out there for these and are of GM stock.

The narrow track and wide track component's are the same, with the exception of the center crossmember and the sway bar. Which should never need to be replaced. Also I think Redlands has 1 left in stock.

Well, that's good to know. Now if you can get Chevy to work on it in a crisis, which I'd only do when traveling so that I can go back to them in another state if there's a problem.

im new to the motorhome group. just purchased a 2006 damon daybreak model 3060. entered my vin number into workhorses site and it tells me i have a 2004 p31832 chassis. is it normal for a manufacturer to build on a two year old chassis? also the 3060 says its a 190" wheelbase but according to some of the numbers on this thread it would be 178" wheelbase. learning alot on these sites but also becoming more confused at the same time.lol...

Yes it is. Some OEMs buy a quantity of chassis at a large discount and they keep them in stock until they get a build order. 2 years is not too far out depending on the OEMs model year.

Manufacturers will either buy a stock length chassis such as a 228" from Workhorse and stretch it out to 248" OR as in your case they bought a 190" from WCC and the manufacturer then shortened it to 178"

Happens all the time....

Lmar1: First let me say WELCOME. We are glad you joined. I'm NOT an expert about this, but I believe you have a Chevrolet P-32 chassis, not a Workhorse product. As far as I know, ALL Workhorse Custom Chassis product's VIN # begin with 5B4. I believe the "W" in the tenth digit position is Chevy code for model year 1998. Also, I suspect your 4 speed tranny is a GM 4L80E or a 4L85E, not an Allison. If it IS an Allison, then it is most likely an AT542.

You have come to the right place for all things RV, and you'll find lots of good info here, as we have many owners of the P-32 chassis whether made by GM or by Workhorse in later years.

Again, WELCOME! ED

So Vin-1GBKP37N49331**** is titled P30 in Oklahoma, so I go to Oreilleys to get some parts for the A/C unit of the motor and they have a P30 that they can select, i have them run that model and it has nothing in common with what I have under my "hood". so if i'm looking for parts for a Chevy 454 from 1993, what do i have them look at. Also, where would I get a list of recalls that are still due or done to my vin and will anyone do them now that they are no longer in business with Cordoba?? Also, i'm wanting to order aftermarket sway bars and such, where do I go for this type of stuff, she's in great shape and i've done a lot of work to her interior but finding stuff to keep her going and up to date is impossible without knowing what to tell my guys at Oreilleys what to look up?

Thanks Again!!!

Chris, Call Mike at Brazel's RV Performance in Centralia, WA. They have all the suspension parts you are going to need for your GM P Series. They are the experts.
