Hi All,

I got another P0332 knock sensor code again this weekend. I was going to replace the sensor late last year but forgot to write it down on maitenance logs. Anyway, does anyone have a part number / source for the sensor? I'm not a testing type of guy, replacement is just easier for me. Thanks All, Good roads to 'YA.

Try 12589867 Knock Sensor.. You should be able to get one at any GM dealer or auto parts store. But, take your old one with you to compare.

I also found this number

GM#12591312
ACDELCO#213-2829
DELPHI#AC10137
ECHLIN#DKS230

Let me know which one fits/works and I will add it to the Workhorse Xref.

Hi All,

Finally ashore for awhile. I got around to pulling the old sensor on Tuesday. The locking tab for the wire connector was broken off and the "Guts" appeared loose in the casing. Could it have been hit by road debris??? Anyway went to local GM dealer, used the GM part no. 12591312, in stock and for a mere $78.00 it's mine But...... I am a cheapskate so off to local Advance auto parts, GM part no. dosen't cross (keep this in mind) so we went with a big truck 8.1L search and came up with an Advance part no 18481695, $50.49 w/tax (VA) next day special order. Picture looked right so I ordered it. This was my second Advance Auto Parts store. The first one I called did the lookup and said they couldn't find one. I went to a second store, a wonderful young lady maybe 1/4 ? my age seemed miffed when I related my experience with the first store. She assured me of next day delivery and sure enough there it was on Wednesday. I looked it over and yes it seems to be an exact match with one exception. the part no. engraved on the old one was 0456500, the part no. on the new one was engraved 12591312, Hmmmm. Now it comes with a small bag of dielectric grease. the girl says make sure to use it or they won't honor the warranty. Okay no problem. But nowhere does it mention that the tourqe settings I've found in my research on the forum. So I set the wrench to 14 ft/lbs spun the sensor into it's spot and made the connection. Now clear the code with the scanner and wait... . . . Okay so I'm moving locations later today and I'll let you know if I get the dreaded engine light. Finally, I know... I know.... a couple of minor musings;
Pretty little girls can be gearheads too.
Young people aren't all that dumb.
And if want to get a crowd around to watch you do a two minute sensor install in a campground... Break out a tourque wrench!

Good roads to Ya,

Had you checked the Workhorse Parts Xref - Knock Sensor you could have saved yourself a few steps as all various part numbers/suppliers are listed.
