P30/32 Dash Air-Compressor Replacement

I had also posted this in the MH general discussion area but maybe there will be better input here.

This I have kept on the back burner. I would like the consensus of this group as to whether it is worth dropping $800 or so on a new compressor for the dash air (diagnosed). This is a P32 chassis, and I have not heard much good about its (air conditioner) reliability and its ability to produce the needed cool air, or even if it is worth running it. It has been inoperable since I purchased this unit, could have used some fresh cool air on several occasssions. Opinions?

I would say go for it!

We are all challenged by our automotive air conditioners however given the choice I would rather have one that is working. That said there are times that we run both the coach and automotive A/C units simultaneously. Cooling off a house is just that - it's a house!

When my dash ac was broke I used the basement air for about 1-2 years( because noone could find the problem and I wasnt going to give money to parts changers) and it worked ok. BUT since I fixed my dash ac it does help up front alot better. If it was me and I knew rpl the comp would fix the problem and the 800.00 didnt hurt to much I would fix it.
