P32 4l80e Transmission oil cooler lines

Can someone tell me how the oil cooler line fittings can be disconnected? Does it require a special tool? Thanks.

Yes you can get them at any parts store and they don't cost that much.

The local parts stores have lots of disconnect tools ranging from about 3 bucks to 50; but not knowing what is needed thats why I asked. The parts store guys go blank when I say it's for a Workhorse chassis. Has anybody out their flushed their 4l80e and disconnected the oil cooler return line? Thanks.

The first thing you have to do is find a parts man that knows something. They are not made for the make and model. They are made for the size of the tubing. They come in sets of three or four differant sizes. You put the tool around the tubing and push it into the connector. This spreads the spring out that holds the connector together. They make them in plastic and are very inexpensive and is all you need because you don't do this for a living and won't be using it every day.

Transmission is a GM (not Workhorse). Some really smart parts guy oughta recognize that foreign brand and be able to deal with it.
