What is the correct part number for a locking gas cap for an 03 Workhorse W 22? My parts guy cannot find an application in his parts book. Thanks in advance.

You can purchase one at Manny, Moe & Jack also. About $15 skins.

This previous thread might be of help.

A GM/workhorse dealer should have the info also. Their locking caps are about $45-50 + tax.

I just got one for my 04 Mountain Aire (02 Cavalier gas cap) from O'Reilly's (part # 55040) for $10.99.

The correct Workhorse part number I was quoted is 22720375. They run around $48. I looked at the Chevy Cavalier one and noticed a couple of differences to the stock cap that made me decide not to go with one.

I notice a couple of differences also. But, it works just fine. As a matter of fact you can get a locking type cap at Wal Mart for about $10.

I have replaced my NAPA locking gas cap twice now. Both times the cap failed to stay locked and could be manipulated to open easily.
The Napa part I have used both times is 703-1643 which was supposed to fit a 2002 Cavalier. After a call to local Napa, I confirmed that indeed the part was for a 2002 Cavalier.
I also asked for a cross reference to the WH part # 22720375 mentioned earlier on this thread. Napa guy came up with the same Cavalier part as above.
You may want to check your locking gas caps to see if a small amount of manipulation allows removal. Mine easily unscrewed while slightly pulling the cap as I rotated it CCW.

Here's a few numbers (latest # on right sides). Bear in mind that sometime body builders will swap out the fuel filler system to a different style, meaning these caps may not be what's on your vehicle now.
non-lock (2004 DOWN) 22660002/25757560
non-lock (2005 UP) W0005864/W0008678
locking (2004 DOWN) 22660005/22720375
locking (2005 UP) W0005862

I have an 2005 W-22, The locking gas cap is the very same cap as fits a 2005 Chevy Silverado Pickup with the 8.1 engine. I have this from 3 sources
1: Damon
2: ME, I have a locking gas cap Silverado size
3: Someone (yes I know who) at workhorse.

I went to Murray's and it was on sale for about $10.00 last year. It works great on my 2003 W22, your mileage may vary
