I am wondering how many of you have been told that your Brake pads are worn substatially and rotors are cracked and should be replaced - at your expense. Even though you have low mileage.
I ask as I have been told that the repair is going to cost me around $2000.00 out of MY pocket!

Boy, I don't know what their finding wrong at that price. I guess different service centers can charge what they want but mine told me if I wanted the complete job (rotors and pads) $1400.00. It's going in this Friday. Not sure I'm going to get new rotors but the pads will get replaced for sure.

First get photo's. Next get workhorse regional service rep. involved. 877-246-7731 Next would be the NHTSA 888-327-4236.

The refurbishing of your brakes should not cost you any more than 1495.00 complete with the calipers, rotors, pads, seals, brake fluid, shop supplies and tax out the door.

I was told that the rotors were cracked and the pads were over 50% worn! the shop is 90 miles from my home and I couldn't see the items. I chose to authorize the repair. I have however semt them an Email based on the comments received from my post.
I questioned how this damage could have happened without something causing unusual heat. I was asked if I had been in the moutains. I use the motorhome to camp in Minnesota and travel to Texas!

Had my recall done yesterday, didn't cost me a dime. Dealer told me everything else was in excellent shape. In the short time I've owned the coach i only had one problem with the brakes and it was caught in time.

I have a thread in this forum with PICTURES about the ASC dealer, and what was required. You need to see your worn out pads and rotors as worn out pads and needing new rotors sounds fishy. How many miles are on your coach?

The unit was completed and I picked it up today! The cost was over $2000.00. The service department said they contacted Workhorse and have pictures for their review. I have less than 25000 miles on the coach!
They were not able to get rotors from Workhorse as they are Back Ordered.
I tried quoting the price stated on this site and they said they did not know where the pricing came from as nobody can get the rotors from Workhorse and etc.
Again I say, this coach has not been near mountain driving or driven extesiveely in city driving as we use the interste to go to IA,Texas and to local raallies as much as possible.

The people that did the work are not select service center because they would have honored the 1495.00 price. SSCs are under contract to provide the 1495.00 price to all customers for a complete rebuild.

You are probably right Driver. However, there is not currently a Select Service Dealer within 200 miles according to the Workhorse site! I do know that there are very few Workhorse dealers in the state of Minnesota at all.
the one I went to iss currently backed up for the recall work through most of November!

I was told over the phone that I should get the 1500.00 brake deal. It was a high pressure sales pitch. My brakes have less than 4 or 5 thousand miles with no mtn trips. The shop said the same thing that I read here by a wh rep that if my mh is 2004 I should get the 1500.00 deal. Buyer beware. We are told that wh reads what is posted here so yes they could stop this. This to will come back to bite wh.

Bosch supplying the calipers, WH and service centers making a killing on the whole thing.
I used Dave`s truck repair in Springfield Ma and he wouldn`t even talk to me about additional work until it was apart and inspected, there are some great SC`s out there but it sounds like there are many gouging people.

Do not disregard the recall! The reasons for the recall are very valid by the number of people that had the problem and caused the recall.
I agree that the brakes should be inspected when the work is being done.
My point in my posting is my opinion that the rotors should not normally be so overheated in the type of driving I do unless the pads are dragging too much.
