Hi Guys , well this was fun,.... While driving down I-75 from Florida it was about 7 pm and my engine light came on and the engine would not power over 20 MPH, no reponse from gas peddle and limped to side of road, Shut engine off, waited 2 min, restarted and engine was fine, ran OK but engine light still on, When I got to next fuel stop I turned on key and pressed gas peddle three times and that reset engine light, Rest of trip was OK no problems,
In checking the posts on the form, could my problem be the TAC Module ( Throttle Activation ControL ) or any other ideas,
Notes : 2004 Newmar Kountry Star 3778 W-22, 8.1 LT. engine , Had Fuel Filter replaced before trip south 4 weeks ago, Ran great on trip down, also Had New Spark Plug wires and Workhorse fresh air kit installed to cool wires and manifolds,
Would the computer still show what happend even after I reset the engine light or is it just as easy to replace the TAC ,?????
Thanks Guys
TVP

When the ECM does shoot a TACM problem it is usually displayed on the command center display as a "Reduced Engine Power" message.
When you eventually go to the service center the Tech II will pick up that code and it's likely that they will take measures to keep it from happening again.

Hi. I'm new to this site. Shoulda been here long ago I think. About this problem that you had tvp. The same thing happened to me last summer up in Canada. I had just got on the Highway south of Calgary when I lost power. I also got the 'check engine' light. Also got the message 'lost engine power' or something like that. Well my comment to that was 'I know that, now tell my why'. Pulled off the road and tried to restart a few times. Still got the message. I ended up being towed to a service center. They said that a wiring harness connected between the chassis and the coach had come loose. He put a couple of tie straps on it and sent me on my way. 2 days later in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming, it happened again. After 20 minutes of fiddling with the connector, the coach started and ran normally. It happened again last month. This time I was two lanes over on a busy freeway. By the time I got to the shoulder, I was doing 20 and was sure someone was going to run into me. Again, after 10 minutes of fiddling with the connector it ran OK. Now I am querying Workhorse but haven't got an answer yet.

Donna and the Girls welcome to irv2
Didn't see you were ever welcome to this site.
Not sure what connector your talking about but if its your ignition cable from ignition switch that cable goes over a metal bend at the top of your steering post. If you are working ok right now I would place a wire guard around these wires to protect them from this metal bend. I was towed to Chev garage because of blown 30 amp fuse and burnt up wiring cable. The metal bend had a burr that shorts wiring to frame ground causing all the trouble for me. Every time you move wheel up or down you are rubbing wires across this bend. The wires need to be protected. "007"
