I have a 2003 W22. What is the proper oil pressure range?

after full warm up, OP at idle is about 15-17 psi, and around 40-45 psi while driving. This assumes you are using the suggested 5W30 motor oil.

Later model engines "may" show a much lower OP at idle, and less than 10 psi is not uncommon. ED

My "cruising" rpm at 58-60 mph is right at 2000 and oil pressure is consistent at 38-40.

I see the same pressure as j griff after the oil is heated.

My new 2009 (28 Miles)(June 06 2008 chassis 8.1L) with the factory fill oil, ran 17 psi idle and 42 psi and 55 mph. I was surprised, but after checking with a certified mechanic/big block engine builder, he said this is how the 8.1 is designed. Hi Flow/ lower pressure.
