Someone suggested that a Brake Failure Poll be started. Since no one jump up I thought I would take a crack at it.

But, before I actually setup the poll I thought I would get some suggestions of what to ask. I have put together a sample. If you think it is to long, needs to reorganized etc now is the time to speak up because once the poll is started it can't be changed without resetting the numbers. IE - We start over.

Also be aware that the poll may be slightly skewed due to the limited access. IE - You must be a forum member and signed in.

Dale, if you have to answer each question, some might not apply....similar to the Ultrapower gas mileage poll which skewed the answers because you had to answer EVERY question.

You might need to add "not applicable" as an answer to each question.

Example. Some might want to put "No" on the brake problem question and also put in their year models, and insert type of chassis, and the rest of the questions would not be applicable.

EDIT: The poll needs to be named "Workhorse Brake Problem Poll" instead of "Brake Failure" poll (which insinuates a complete brake failure)

OEMY,
Great start. Agree with FrontRangers comments. I would also add a "0" to the number of failures column. In my opinion, with the not applicable addition everyone can answer every question and the poll will be more accurate.

I think this is an important poll and it will be interesting to see the number/percentage of respondants who have had problems.

I have followed this issue for over a year and have done everything recommended to prevent a failure (so far with success - or just plain luck). Have pulled the ABS fuze as I really believe the ABS system is the culprit here.
Again thanks for getting this started - a great service to WH owners.

In addition to changing the title to "Workhorse Brake Problems", you need to change every word "Failure" to "Problem"

Actually, after thinking about it, the poll needs to show what year models of the chassis having the problems. It is highly suspected that the problems are occuring on the pre 2005 chassis.

I think this is a good suggestion. There may be many problems, other than failures. Possibly a question of "did you correct a pre-failure problem"?

It might be useful to ask which coach builder also.

That will probably be the final outcome (ruling) by Workhorse; It's a Coach Builder mistake!

Oemtech, thanks for your effort in taking the lead on this. Others' comments are valid.

Recommend adding to the Warranty question: If not under warranty, did Workhorse reimburse any costs?

Re ABS fuse: Was the fuse pulled prior to brake problems?

You are on the right track, with Workhorse being silent. Thanks

Thudman

I have added or changed the following:

Added - N/A to all questions
Changed - Failure to Problem
Changed - year of coach to chassis
Added - Reimbursement question for No Warranty repair.
Changed - Repair time verbage.

I did not add the question of who the OEM was as I don't think it is relevant to the poll.

This is a great Idea.
Here is my input.

Were you towing?
Did the failure occur on flat ground?
Which wheel had a problem?

Bear in mind that the poll may be skewed by having a former owner and a later owner reporting on the same chassis!! Good luck with your poll OEHMY!!!
