Fullastern,

You need to get in the 21 century.... prices are sky high. I priced a set of standard plug wires at a GM/WHSC and they wanted $105. I have seen 41-932's plugs from $6 a piece to full list of $13.

The Taylor Extremes are 10.4 mm compared to 6 mm of standard, 300 ohms per ft (they are about 1' long) and they have fiberglass covers that run almost as much as the wires. The Taylor wire covers have a steel ring on the inside so they can't be removed from the wire. The Taylor wires have a 5 year warranty.

As for the Pulstar plug... I would like to see a dyno run with 41-932's and then the Pulstar plug. I am going to their website and see if I can get them to send a set to Brazels for testing How many bet I get as and how many bet I don't?

We have seen so many trick spark plugs come down the pike like the "Sure Fire" however in the end we still see that the conventional tip and wire anode plug continues to perform adequately.

I went the website and from what I saw and read it looks like they have incorporated a micro RC circuit in the plug. But at $25 a pop I don't think I will be ordering anytime soon. I sent them an eamil, so wee will wait and see.

Lastly you need to read their data very carefully.... They use the word IF in a lot of places.

I am a very skeptical electrical engineer and have yet to see one of these magic mileage increasers do anything and I investigated a number of them while I was chief engineer for a company that supplied electronic instrumentation and other products to both the automotive OEM and aftermarket.

However I took a look at the web site and it brought to a mind an IEEE paper - 02FFL-204 Automotive Ignition Transfer Efficiency - that was presented in 2002. The IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is a well respected engineering organization.
The paper concerns using a low-inductance, low-loss, peaking capacitor at the plug to increase the energy to the plug gap. There are data that shows significant increases in energy delivered and MPG.
I pulled a copy of the paper from a IEEE database but also found a copy HERE.

Based on the information presented in the paper, if this company actually implemented the technique described, they could show some increase in MPG.

Now my question is why aren't the automotive guys using these plugs? If they were really cost effective I believe they would be.

Please don't tell me it's because the powers that be are all involved in a plot to keep this off the market for nefarious reasons. I don't buy that crap at all.

I suspect that the company either can't produce the results claimed or it doesn't make sense from a cost standpoint.

I look at it this way, If workhorse could put those wires and plugs in an get better milage and performance I think they would ,just to be better than other Chassis, because it wouln,t cost them $200.00. Just My opinion

The way Clay is describing it, it's like using an MSD CD ignition. I have tried that in non-racing engines, and really did find any real gains. Either the plug fires consistantly, or it doesn't. Most OEM ignitions these days are very effective, since it was cheap and easy to make them that way.

Regardless of how much it costs - it costs money and it appears that it's in short supply by everyone involved in paying.

Workhorse has an SSC option however coaches deliverd with same are few and far between.

It's much better, less expensive and rewarding for an end user to buy these types of goodies after market.
