Hi,
This is my first post and I'm unsure if this was the right thread to post this in.
Do any of you know what the gas mileage is on the Georgetown 391 XL (Gas pusher)?
Also, we are unsure how the gas pusher engines have been working.
Do anyone of you know of any problems that have been arising in those types of engines?
We are currently deciding if we should go with a gas pusher or a regular ford V10 gas engine.
We have tried the Georgetown XL and we really like it but one salesman told us that there was some
problems with the gas pusher design.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have a Winnebago Destination 39W on the UFO chassis. I get 5.5 to 7 MPG depending on how and where I drive it. I believe you have to drive the UFO to really appreciate it. I now have 6500 miles on it and have had no chassis problems at all.

I have also driven a second and it was just as good as the 1st one I drove. I also have driven many other UFO coaches and have taken many people out for test drives. It's a swell machine!
There are no problems with any of the systems on the UFO that I'm aware of. The only problem that the salesman is trying to share with you is that "perhaps" he's not making as much money selling you a UFO as he would if he sold you the Ford. Now that's a "BIG" problem for him.
For you it's probably the best decision you can make. Test drive the XL Ford and then go and test drive the XL UFO. Absolutely no comparison. Please let us know how that works out for you.

Welcome to the FORUM... i've never driven a UFO coach. But i do have an '04 georgetown 359ts with the (front) chevy 8.1 workhorse chassis. i could recommend this system to any new potential buyer. my milage is 7.5-9/gal-but you won't really get any better regardless of what chassis you buy. if YOU are happy with the driving comfort and floor plan - that's the main factor.JMOP

Although I do not own a Forest River Georgetown XL, I am a very happy and proud owner of a 2008 Holiday Rambler 38PLT on a UFO chassis. This is my second Workhorse chassis, with the first being a Tiffin Allegro.
Although the coach is only a month old, our first trip out towing a 2007 Honda CRV, we got 7.0 mpg. I love the 6 speed Allison transmission which is really great to drive. The pickup and braking of this coach is really great and the quality has exceeded my expectations. There have been new coach issues but nothing earthshattering.
I am looking forward to putting some miles on the unit this summer with a trip from Houston to Sacramento. Will really be able to get a good feel for the mileage at that time.
If you decide to go with a UFO chassis, you will not be disappointed with the quiet ride and smooth performance.
Regards

I think that 39' Georgetown "UFO" built on the longest 262" wheel base chassis is a very nice floor plan. It does come with a king size bed, which we don't need as my wife is practically glued to me when we sleep. Actually we could get by with a full size bed. But, it is a good floor plan and I think Forest River is coming up with better quality products. I would consider it! The sexiest though, is still that Rexhall Aerbus! Bagman57

DriVer and 007--thanks very much for the warm welcome and also for the link. I will be very happy to continue documenting my experiences with the UFO chassis, but can say right now I have been waiting a long time for something like this. Appreciate that Monaco built their coach on the UFO with a front entry door as it makes coach more liveable from my view. (Just my opinion. Also the table/chairs in the rear allow us room to travel with our 4 Bengal cats and shetland sheepdog---needless to say, sometimes is a zoo on wheels.
