Once in a while I remove radiator cap just to be sure fluid is not low. Much to my surprise I found several, one inch square plus some, sheets of what appears to be glosss black paint film floating in the neck. ??????? Very uniform in color and thickness.
2008 chassis/engine.

What you could be seeing is some type of coating or paint on the internal parts of the core or radiator tank. I believe that the debris won't ruin your cooling system but I would just fish out the debris in the interim. Make sure the level is completely full to overflow when you put the cap back on. In time when you R&R your coolant, most of the debris will come out with the old coolant.
