Ford did the same thing with F450's, and F550's. It wasn't an RV only thing.

I noticed my right side leaking this past trip.
I haven't removed a rear axel of this type in 25 years, if I remember correctly just remove the bolts, a light tap on the axel to get it to "bounce out" a bit and it will slide out...Yes / no ??
