I purchased left-over '04 Rexair TR36G built on an '03 W-22 chassis. I left the dealer with 59 miles on the odometer. By the time I hit 100 miles on the odometer I had a major rear axle leak. The left side inner seal was leaking gear oil. I had oil on the brakes, wheel, tires, chassis, exhaust and up the rear of the coach body. Has anyone else had this problem or is this an isolated incident.

I have a 2003 W22, I have had both of my rear outers replaced. Last one was at 9K,now I have 11K on the unit. I was told that the chassis may have sat for a long time and that could have caussed the seals to dry out, and later leak.

Since you have shared with us the aftermath of the leak, how was your service center experience when you had the seal replaced?

After about 18 months and 6,000 miles (or so) we noticed a leak on the passenger side while parked on a pad. Called in for service and when we wne tin about 2 weeks later the other side had started leaking as well.
The leak seemed like a lot of fluid btu according to the service folks wasn't. We had the work done at Coach Care in El Cajon.
They told us that they have seen this once in a while but it is not common.
Workshorse covered all of the costs -- including the need to replace the rotors, clean up, etc. without a problem and the folks at Coach Care were great.

I was not complaining my cost were all cover by Workhorse. Just wanted to share the story and the reason someone had suggested for the problem.

My left rear seal went out at about 21,000 miles on my early 2002 chassis. Covered under warranty, including necessary brake pad replacement.

Sorry for the late reply. Everything was taken care of by my nearest WCC service center (45 miles away). It did take 10 days for them to start and complete the work. fortunately I did not need the moho during that time.
