We have a 2005 Winnebago Voyage. I have an issue with the brake/turn lamps on our coach. Here is whats happening.....
When you hit the brake pedal both the brake lamps and amber turn lamps in the rear light up on both sides. If you hit the turn signal on either side it works but the other side amber lamp stays lit and vise versa. I also notice that the ground wire in the 6 way trailer connector has 12V when you hit the brakes or turn signals. Im thinking since there are separate turn/brake lamps that there must be a converter wired in the factory harness somewhere to convert the trailer wiring but cannot find it.
Anyone experience this or have knowledge of the system? The trailer plug wiring looks good at the plug and all lamps have been replaced.
Thanks for your help!
RG

After reading your three posts same subject you need to check the lamp holders for your lamps and the 7 pin jack for tow or trailer. Jack may have loose wire or corrosion between pins of jack.
Like has been said you have a short to ground or between a lamp to other half of a lamp to operate both filaments of your lamps.
The lamps should all operate independently of each other, brake light independent of your turn signal lamps and so forth.
Welcome to irv2 by the way.

Hey, I have had this very same problem since day one of ownership. I bought my rig brand new. The dealer was worthless when I squawked it under warranty in 2006, and Winne's tech support doesn't know what to do either.

I remember talking to them in 2006 about this problem and they had a service letter which recommended cutting a specific wire, which I was too chicken to do. I just called them again today, and they now deny any knowledge of the issue, although they do have a record of my original call.

I feel like the problem is valid, since more than one member has the exact same symptoms on the same year model Voyage 33V coach.

By the way, this coach came equipped from the factory with a 6-pin trailer connector, NOT a 7-pin.

Any more suggestions?

Update on this problem---FIXED!
There is a ''test connector'' under the dash panel which lifts up. The connector is right behind/below the gauges in the main harness not in the part that lifts up but the harness you are looking down at in the cavity. Its a 1 wire round connector with white wires on both ends. When the connector is plugged together the brake/turn lamps are linked together, so you need to leave it unplugged. Not sure what it is actually there for but unplugging it solved the problem.
After you unplug it verify the lamp operation.
Hope this helps.
